Jennifer Lynch

Biography
Dr Jennifer Lynch is Associate Professor (Teaching) in Creativity and Innovation, Programme Director for the MSc Creativity, Innovation & Leadership at the UCL School of Management and an Honorary Research Fellow. Jennifer is an organisational psychologist, executive coach, facilitator, and TEDx speaker whose work centres on a single question: what does it really take for people—and organisations—to think, act and live more creatively?
As both a researcher and practitioner, Jennifer works at the intersection of academic insight and organisational life. She translates findings from the psychology of creativity into experiences that shift how leaders think, collaborate, and take creative risks—whether in the classroom, the boardroom, or the context of an individual coaching conversation.
Her PhD in Organisational Behaviour from London Business School examined the psychological barriers and enablers of creative engagement. That research foundation underpins her teaching at UCL and continues to shape a portfolio of leadership development programmes she has designed and delivered over more than a decade as a certified executive coach.
Before academia, Jennifer spent several years as a management consultant at McKinsey & Company in Dubai, advising senior executives across a wide range of industries, sectors, and cultures. That experience gave her both a sharp commercial lens and a deep appreciation for the human complexity that sits beneath every strategic challenge. Previously, she spent two years in Pakistan working on economic development projects supporting women artisans and agricultural value chains.
A genuinely global perspective shapes everything Jennifer does. Having lived, worked, and studied across more than a dozen countries on several continents, she brings an acute sensitivity to culture, context, and the different ways creativity shows up around the world. Jennifer holds an MBA from Columbia University and BSFS from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service.
Outside of work, she enjoys storytelling and making crafts with her daughter.
